/Bale/ Beginner And Low Effort art thread - #63 Anonymous 04/15/2025 (Tue) 20:48:29 No. 20116
Welcome friends, ITT: We make and share pony art, with absolutely no pressure to deliver anything that's technically good (besides having ponies in it, which makes it good by default) Make something, share what you've done, and give feedback and motivation to help us all keep improving and creating! This thread's focus is art, but beginner or low effort content of any kind is welcome here. If you do want to post about something else like music, gamedev, or crafts, though, just note that you may find better help and feedback posting it in the T:EM/P/O thread Are you an experienced artist? Leave some tips, feedback, guides, or tutorials, they're well appreciated here! Guides, tutorials and resources! With a recent feeling of tiredness of llm chat ai's and their predictability, I have been feeling more and more inclinded to use that energy when the ideas hit, I otherwise would have explored with an AI, to whip out my oldass electric typewriter and start tapping away, putting the scenario in my head onto paper. Yes, it's smut. Horny energy have a history of pushing me far. Also I'm not usually a writefag. Don't judge me.
>>30252 Honestly impressive if you're serious, I like messing around with old tech. I don't have a typewriter but I've handwritten little mini-fics and other pony stuff in notebooks when I've been bored and away from a screen and it can be pretty enjoyable - feels a bit like when I was a kid and would fill notebooks with shit I made up just to entertain myself. It's a very different feeling from typing something on a computer. Is it a typewriter you've already owned and had sitting around for a long time or is it a used one you bought more recently?
>>30252 That's pretty sweet. Getting back into the community's motivated me to start writing again, thought at the moment I'm just at short stories to get the rust off. Do you happen to know if that typewriter's font has a name? I'd really like to use it
>>30254 Fun story, it was at one of the dorms I stayed at during uni. Place had a workshop room in the basement for fixing your bike and stuff. It was in a box there, looking all neglected. I played with it, checked over a few weeks if anyone noved it around, like to see if anyone claimed ownership. A few weeks of nithing, I took it and it's been with me ever since. Now parts, ink band cartridges and stuff is just terribly expensive. I ran out of eraser tape mid-writing. That'll be a week or two of downtime until my ebay order arrives, hoping it fits.

>>30255 Classic gothic, I guess. Printwheel attached. I think it's just the standard that came with the machine originally. Apparently there are tons of wheels available online still at 20 bucks a pop. Might consider getting more just for the fun of it. >>30254 Also yeah, there's just something special about it. Sort of a middleground between handwriting and being on a computer. If you messed up a few lines ago, that's tough. Get better and get used to the forward momentum of writing. Or something like. I just like machines these days that have one purpose and are really good at it, or at least don't distract with other stuff on the side. In the same vein, I'm pondering getting a system camera, just great for photos and not a jack of all trades device.
