I understand and agree with that, I acknowledge my mistake. I should've worded my posts differently.
>Even if advertised as just a proxy for 4chan, as far as we're concerned it's no different than advertising any other proxy or vpn.
So, no mentions of cucker in any way? Fair. But I still think that HP should know about that option regardless how shady it is.
>Reviewing the ban log I do feel like the ban was a bit excessive for what is as far as I can tell a first time offense. Generally we try to lean towards warns when possible. The bans you received were the same bans we give to the bots that sometimes make their way through, which the volunteer may have thought you one of or otherwise involved with.
I'm using the same VPN (Tor) like them and acted just like you'd expect one to so it's completely understandable reaction. But not really useful in the context of Tor. You either have to block it completely or come up with some sort of a special filter for it. And you can't appeal to the ban history too.
>Furthermore regarding 4chan: While there is much to complain about, we are not 4chan. There is nothing that we can do about 4chan and so complaining about it here is largely offtopic. I think back to my impression of /pone/ all those years ago. It felt like the only thing people wanted to do there was to complain about 4chan, nobody wanted to just have fun. Things that happen offsite are meant to stay offsite. That is the magic of anonymity. We don't want to know what posters do outside of NHNB and generally that is our policy for moderation.
True. But that's to be expected too since the userbase is largely consists from 4chan refugees. I posted on this site from time to time before the hack and it makes me a bit sad too that nobody wants to see this place separately from 4chan. I don't think anything could be done with that though, as a someone who's been using imageboards for quite a while it feels like their days are long gone, people don't need them as a something separate from the other internet, everything is too interconnected now. No homogenious and anonymous groups could exist anymore. No idea what to do with that problem and anyone else I've seen who holds the same opinion as me cares to even think about solving it. I respect that you still haven't given up, and the last bit of hope I have is my soul is that someday this site will prove me wrong.
>Warns will produce the same messages on post and is what we try to make use of. The red text on posts is separate from the ban/warn reason.
